KABUL (SW) – A former presidential adviser has said in a televised interview that rampant moral corruption is underway at the Arg (Presidency).
This allegation by Habibullah Ahmadzai has taken the social media by a storm. In this televised interview, the former presidential adviser said he resigned from his post due to this environment. He went on to say a number of advisers, ministers and parliamentarians are directly promoting moral corruption at the Arg.
However, Harun Chakhansuri, spokesman for the president, has rejected these allegations. He said during a press conference that these allegations by Habibullah Ahmadzai are against principles and based on prejudices. He said the accused should provide proof to the legal institutions instead of publicizing the allegations in the media.
In a statement, the council of presidential candidates dubbed these allegations as shocking, and called for thorough investigations into these claims by the former presidential adviser.
