HERAT CITY (SW): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Saturday launched project to register private property at a ceremony in Herat attended by official and local elders.
Speaking on the occasion, the President said no part of the country would be left un-registered and unplanned.
Officials of the Afghanistan Independent Land Authority said during the ceremony that there is a plan in place to issue property registration documents to up to a million citizens. It was mentioned that up to 400,000 housing units in six cities have been registered. Citizens were urged to register their properties for their own gains.
Mohammad Asif Rahimi, provincial governor, said in his remarks that this land registration drive is aimed at putting an end to the land disputes across the country. He added legally registered property is easy so sell at fair price hence citizens should take active part in this project.
