SHEBERGHAN (SW): The pro-Daesh rebels in Jawzjan province have warned locals against playing football or shaving beard.
Mohammad Saleem, a resident of the province’s Qosh Tapa district, informed that a number of residents have fled their homes out of fear of the militants. He said the militants have tied hands and kept captive those men who had shaved their beards besides confiscating livestock from their homes.
Gulabuddin, another resident of the restive Qosh Tapa district, informed that the militants have also imposed ban on playing football. He added one of his son was beaten for paying football. Pronouncing this as a serious tragedy, he said the government should take immediate steps to counter the growing influence of the militants.
Mohammad Reza Ghafoori, spokesman for the provincial governor, has confirmed these reports. He told Salam Watandar these militants would not mind committing any sort of atrocities. He said plans are in place to flush the militants out of Qosh Tapa.
The pro-Daesh militants have not commented in this regard so far.
