SAR-I-PUL (SW): The pro-Daesh militants have abducted at least 27 farmers from Sar-i-Pul’s Sayad district, officials confirmed on Saturday.
Mohammad Noor Rahmani, chairman of the provincial council, informed Salam Watandar that the incident took place in the Mirza Olang area of the province. He added the militants under the command of their leader Sher Mohammad Ghazanfari are involved in this abduction. Rahmani went on to say the security situation in the province is fragile, and the fate of the abducted farmers unknown.
The Sar-i-Pul provincial council chairman warned the government to take immediate steps towards restoring peace in the province otherwise a human catastrophe might emerge.
Meanwhile, Zabihullah Amani, spokesman for the provincial governor, has said they have not received any such reports. On their part, the militants have not commented on the matter.
