29/11/2015

KABUL (SW): The Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah has said President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani would meet Prime Minister of Pakistan Mohammad Nawaz Sharif on the sideline of Climate Change Conference 2015 in Paris on Tuesday evening.

Abdullah declined to elaborate the agenda of this proposed one on one meeting. Abdullah revealed that the Pakhtunkhwa leaders requested President Ghani to meet Sharif in Paris.

He added Ghani has agreed with these Pashtun leaders. It is vital to note the Afghan President harshly criticized Pakistan over spate of deadly terrorist attacks in Afghanistan that claimed multiple civilian lives. This was on the backdrop of an unprecedented outreach by Ghani towards Islamabad hoping for the same from Pakistan.

Abdullah told the cabinet meeting that the Climate Change Conference 2015 in Paris was an historic one with the leaders of some 180 countries participating.

The CEO went on to say President Ghani would leave for Italy, Sweden and Germany after the Climate Change Conference 2015 in Paris.

On Monday, the Masharano Jirga (upper house) urged President Ghani not to change his attitude towards Pakistan and decline to meet Sharif in Paris until Pakistan changes its policy of supporting the terrorists.
