KABUL(SW): Ghani was speaking at the launch of “State of Afghan Cities 2015” at the Palace here on Monday. Ghani announced in a week’s time, registration process of the undocumented houses would commence. He said 16, 000 would be surveyed each month. The President announced that efforts were underway to shift ministries’ buildings from crowded city center to the western edge of the capital near the Dar-ul-Aman.

Syed Sadat Mansoor Naderi, Minister for the Urban Development Affairs (MoUDA) said on the occasion that the facts provided in this report would help national and international institutions to plan on the basis of concrete evidence. It was mentioned in the gathering that by 2060, Afghanistan would be an urban country with the majority of its citizens living in cities.

The study has been supported by the UNHABITAT and the Australian government.
