KABUL (SW) – President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met the U.S Special Envoy, Zalmay Khalilzad, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, and the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, Abdul Aziz Kamilov in Munich on Friday.
These meetings took place on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference in Germany. ‘Good meeting with President Ashraf Ghani this afternoon in Munich. We discussed next steps on consultative Loya Jirga and the urgent necessity of an intra-Afghan dialogue, as well as key regional developments. We are united in our pursuit of peace”, Khalilzad noted in a tweet.
According to the Arg (presidential palace), Ghani discussed mutual security cooperation and fight against terrorism among other subjects with the Turkish minister.
It added intra-Afghan peace process and promotion of trade between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan were discussed between President Ghani and FM Kamilov.
Ghani is leading a high-level official delegation to attend the three-day MSC in Germany.
