KABUL (SW) – The Independent Election Commission announced here on Sunday that the preliminary results for the presidential polls would be announced on Nov. 14 later this year.
Hava Alam Nuristani, the IEC, said during a press conference that the German manufacturer of the biometric verification devise, DERMALOG, has pledged to share with the commission preliminary account of the sorting process later this week. She stressed all efforts have been made to streamline and expedite operations in line with the timetable.
She vowed not to bow to any political pressures in announcing the preliminary results.
Speaking on the occasion, an IEC commissioner Mawlana Abdullah said the central server remains subject to cyber assaults and other technical glitches hindering timely announcement of the preliminary results. He announced the recount at the provincial level would commence from Monday.
