FARAH CITY (SW) – A prayer leader in Farah has shot dead 11 members of three families in the Khak-e-Safaid district of the province.
Shah Mehmood Naimi, deputy chairman for the provincial council, told Salam Watandar the incident took place last evening. He said the prayer leader first opened fire on his own family members and later opened fire on the families of two of his neighbors who wished to calm things down.
Naimi confirmed a total of 11 people including seven women and two children lost their lives in this episode of violence. He added the incident took place in the Taliban-controlled part of the district.
The provincial police headquarters has confirmed the incident.
SW has obtained a troubling video in which the dead bodies can be seen amid cries and sighs.
