KABUL (SW): The Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), the power utility, has promised the issue of power breakdowns in the capital Kabul would be resolved in a week’s time.
This comes as the residents in the capital city suffer long hours of load-shedding in the scorching summer. Waheedullah Tawhidi, spokesman for DABS, told Salam Watandar ongoing clashes between the government forces and the armed rebels in Kunduz province have hindered supply of electricity to Kabul. He said Kabul is receiving 150 megawatts these days instead of the usual 300 megawatts.
The DABS spokesman said negotiations have been successful with the government of Uzbekistan for urgent supply of 300 megawatts on ad hoc basis. The DABS spokesman urged Kabul residents to use electricity with modesty so that all in need can have equal share of it.
