BALKH (SW): Atta Mohammad Noor, the CEO of the Jamiat-e-Islami Party, said that if the government insists on his dismissal from the position of Governor of Balkh province and uses force to impose the dismissal, they will “legitimately defend” their rights.
Atta Mohammad Noor, speaking at a public gathering on Tuesday in Balkh, said that he will resign if his previous agreement with the government is accepted and also demanded that the appointments of his successor in Balk and the chief of police should be according to his will.
The CEO of Jamiat-e-Islami Party said that if these conditions are not accepted, they will put in order civil protests against the government.
Dozens of residents of Balkh, civil society activists, politicians, women, and tribal elders were present at the gathering.
Meanwhile, the top leaders of Jamiat-e-Islami have been discussing the dismissal of Atta Mohammad Noor with the government officials at Presidential Palace in Kabul, and probably the party’s position will be stated late night on Tuesday (today) or tomorrow (Wednesday).
