KABUL (SW): The Minister of Justice has said the political parties are facing shortages of funds which has led to them seek favors from other countries.
Abdul Basir Anwar, Minister of Justice, while addressing the Mishrano Jirga (upper house) today said funding issues have left political parties crippled and eager for other sources. According to him, the parties are in a way exploiting students for their political agendas. “We are considering to have a joint meeting with the registered political parties to discuss these problems’, informed Anwar.
Despite the fact that the Mishrano Jirga (MJ) members were not convinced with the explanation given by the Minister about prevailing political situation. But, Mohammad Alam Ezadyar, deputy speaker of the house, based on the letter received from the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, has noted that the government has failed in providing information on the activities of the political parties in regard to the unrest in the country.
Based on the information provided by the Ministry of Justice, 62 political parties are active and registered in the country.
