Policemen charged for burglary & murder in Baghlan

PUL-I-KHUMRI (SW): A family in northern Baghlan province has charged two policemen for entering their home for burglary and eventually killing a resident.

Jamshed, the brother of the deceased man said their home in the provincial capital Pul-i-Khumri was raided by two policemen last night. Talking to Salam Watandar, he recalled that a police patrolling car stopped by their home in the night and two policemen wearing uniform broke into their home.

Jamshed added that he and his brother resisted and managed to capture one of the policemen while the other shot his brother dead.

Ahmad Jawed, spokesman for the provincial police headquarters said in this regard that the accused policeman is on the run and would be caught soon. Jawed added that the accused was on leave from his duty when he committed this act.

It is vital to note that a police car belonging to the convoy of Khalil Andarabi, police chief for central Maidan Wardak province was caught by security forces when it was transporting an injured Taliban commander from Baghlan to the capital Kabul.
