FARAH (SW): Dozens of people staged a protest in front of the governor’s office in Farah in protest for killings of a drive by police who refused to pay a bribe to police on Highway 517 of this province.

Protesters carried the dead body of the driver with them in front of the governor’s office and vowed that they will continue the protest until the perpetrator is arrested.

Abdul Basir Salangi, governor of Farah said that the preliminary investigations have begun on the incident and the perpetrators will be arrested the soonest possible.

This is not the first time that a driver is killed on Farah’s highways by police for “police extortion”. The residents of Farah told Salam Watandar that in the past two years, this is the fifth person who has been killed by police forces for not paying ransom to them.
