CHARIKAR (SW): Authorities in Parwan province have seized up to 30 tons of explosive substance.
Gen. Mohammad Zaman, the police chief of the province, has said the explosives have been recovered from a depot in the Bagram district. He said the explosives were hidden in an underground facility in the Shakay area of the district. The explosives have been identified as c-4 that were placed in up to 300 bags.
The police chief said it is not clear how long these explosives remain hidden here. He said no one has been arrested in this connection so far. The provincial police directorate has claimed to have unearthed another depot of arms and ammunition, but declined to share further details with the press.
Meanwhile, Waheed Siddiqui, spokesman for the provincial governor, has said a man has been arrested on suspicion.
