KABUL (SW): Unknown gunmen have kidnapped a German woman in the capital Kabul on Monday morning.
The abducted lady is said to an aid worker associated with the Germany’s international aid organization Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
Kabul's deputy police chief, Gul Agha Rouhani, has said the woman was taken down from her car by two gunmen who later took her away with them. The incident took place in Kabul’s relatively secure Qala Fatehullah neighborhood.
No group or individual have claimed responsibility for the kidnapping.
According to Germany’s public broadcaster DW, in May, a German aid worker kidnapped by the Taliban in Afghanistan succesfully fled his captors, according to his own account of events, after spending more than 40 days in captivity.
GIZ has been actively engaged in Afghanistan and the region for sustainable development, as the organization states in its manifesto.
