SHEBERGHAN (SW): Locals in Jawzjan claim the provincial administration has set-up a dedicated place for sale and consumption of narcotics.
A local trader who wished not to be named in the report, informed the den for drug peddlers and consumers has been established in the Bandar area of Darzab district. A number of other residents have also criticized the provincial administration for promoting the use of narcotics instead of curbing it and treating the addicts.
A drug addict told Salam Watandar the consumers and traders of narcotics pay bribes to the police in the area. One such addict, Abdul Mateen, said men like him would not hesitate from committing any crime in a bid to fetch enough to buy the drugs.
Meanwhile, Abdul Hafeez Shakhi, head of security at the police headquarters, has discarded these reports. He told Salam Watandar plans are in place to round all addicted people for treatment.
