KABUL (SW) – The Peace and Stability electoral team led by Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah on Sunday announced to boycott vote recount and investigation process.
Fazal Ahmad Manawi, a leader of this team, told a press conference in this connection that the Independent Election Commission has begun the process in absence of their monitors. He dubbed it a clear violation of the electoral laws. He warned the Peace and Stability team would abandon the whole process if rules are not followed in this process.
Referring to the 2014 presidential polls, he said the peoples’ votes would be defended at all cost this time.
However, the IEC chief, Hava Alam Nuristani, said in a press conference later in the day that the electoral teams have been invited to the process, and have been urged to have fate in it. The recount and investigation process began on Sunday after a few hours of delay.
