HERAT CITY (SW): Syed Omar Saboor, Head of Passport Department visited the western Herat province on Thursday to address the grown complaints from this important business center of the country.
The Passport department director handed over 3000 new digital passports to the provincial branch
Saboor said he would do his best to acquire more passport printing devices that would meet the growing demand on provincial levels. He said the main reason behind his visit to Herat was to closely monitor the problems in the local passport department and help solve them.
Around 300 passports are issued in Herat on daily basis.
Habiburrahman Pedram, a member of Herat Provincial Council said that considering more than 4 million population of the province, the quota of 250 to 300 passports per day was not enough. Even those who get it, have to work hard and wait for days before they get it, he added.
