KABUL (SW): Local officials and residents of Badakshan, Bamiyan, and Ghor provinces have been facing travel problems after Kam Air announced it canceled all its flights due to the attack on its personnel at the Inter-Continental hotel in Kabul a few weeks ago.
Bashir Sameem, Chairman of Badakhshan Provincial Council told Salam Watandar that the cancellation of Kam Air flights has caused government employees and soldiers, who came home for the holidays to Badkahshan, to wait until the flights are resumed because the Kabul-Badakhshan highway is insecure for travelers.
Abdul Satar, a local businessman in Bamiyan also told Salam Watandar that if the Kam Air does not resume its flights to Bamiyan, local officials and residents of the province will not be able to travel to Kabul due to insecurity on the Bamiyan-Kabul highway.
Sherzai, an employee of the Ministry of Education, and Mohammad, a resident of Ghor province said that the cancellation of Kam Air flights has caused them many problems.
However, Samadi, an official of Kam Air told Salam Watandar that the flights will resume soon.
Kam Air announced to stop its domestic flights after 11 of its employees were killed in an attack on the Inter-Continental hotel in Kabul some 12 days ago.
