KABUL (SW): Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Pakistan’s Prime Ministry, in his first United Nations General Assembly on Thursday evening, rejecting United States’ new strategy for Afghanistan and South Asia praised China’s growing economy in the region.

“Taliban 'safe havens' are not located in Pakistan "but in the large tracts of territory controlled by the Taliban in Afghanistan", reiterated Abbasi.

According to him, Islamabad is ready to work with Kabul to stop cross-border attacks.

He added that Pakistan continues to fight its internal terrorists. He claimed that Pakistan has eradicated the radical extremist groups in tribal areas of the Pakistani territory, where thousands of Pakistani civilians and military personnel have been victimized.

Pakistan’s PM emphasized that the country will not become “scapegoat” for other country’s war. He suggested that parties involved in the Afghanistan war cannot win on the battlefield and peace is the only way to resolve the 16-year conflict.
