Pakistani troops place mines 300 meters inside Afghanistan

ASADABAD (SW) – Officials in Kunar province said Pakistani troops have advanced 300 meters into Afghan territory and mined parts of the Dangam district.

Mohammad Rahman Danesh, governor of Dangam, said Pakistani troops have mined territory some 300 meters inside Afghanistan in violation of all international principles. According to Danesh, because of the mines in the district, locals cannot freely move.

He said this has been discussed with the government, but no action has been taken so far.

Some residents of Dangam district also confirmed that the Pakistani troops have mined areas of the district. According to them, a number of residents were killed and their livestock also killed in the blasts caused by these mines.

Residents of Dangam district have urgedg the government to immediately discuss the matter with the Pakistani government and declare its position against the mining.
