KABUL (SW) – The visiting foreign minister of Pakistan on Monday reiterated Islamabad’s non-interference policy towards Afghanistan.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi led an official delegation to call upon president, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, and foreign minister, Salahuddin Rabbani here.
Sibghat Ahmadi, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told a presser that Qureshi said Islamabad was pursuing policy of non-interference, and stressed the success of peace process in Afghanistan was collective responsibility of regional countries.
He added Pakistan has promised to help establish regional consensus on this.
In this meeting, Salahuddin Rabbani, underlined the significance of direct peace talks between the Afghan officials and the Taliban. He added ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan were improving.
In meeting with president Ghani, the foreign minister of Pakistan discussed matters of mutual interests, Afghan-owned and Afghan-led peace process.
