KABUL (SW): Gen. Raheel Sharif, Pakistan Chief of Army Staff, visited Kabul on Sunday and met with Government of National Unity’s high-ranking officials but a number of analysts argue Pakistan has no will to keep its promises.
Many of political analysts believed that Pakistan only makes empty promises to Afghanistan but is not willing to realizing the promises.
Waheed Mozhda, a political analyst, told Salam Watandar that such visits have been repetitive, which would bear no fruit for Afghanistan.
He said that Pakistani officials by paying such visits, only seek to damage the relations between Afghanistan and India.
He further said that whenever an Indian official visits Afghansitan, Pakistan has continuously proven to be the next visitor to find out about what has been discussed between India and Afghanistan.
Latif Nazari, another analyst, too believed that the recent visit by Pakistan high-ranking officials to Afghanistan was only aimed at deceiving the public and deviate their minds which in nature has nothing to do with ensuring stability and security in the country.
He said that the promises that Pakistan has made to Afghanistan were only a waste of time. The analysts believed that unless Afghanistan and Pakistan work on solving the disagreements and the specific current security challenges, security and stability would never be ensured in the region.
A number of Wolesi Jirga( Lower House) members on Monday said that Afghanistan government should consider such visits and meetings as the last opportunity for Pakistan and if they failed to keep the pledges they make, their ambassador to Kabul should be dismissed and all the relations with Pakistan should be severed.
