KABUL (SW) – Second vice president Sarwar Danish on Saturday participated in the inauguration of the Pakistan-funded Mohammad Ali Jinnah Hospital in Kabul.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the government is striving hard to deliver health, education and justice to all, however, serious impediments are hindering the implementation of these promises. He said neighboring countries, especially Pakistan has significant role to play in ensuring peace in Afghanistan. He called for effective role by Pakistan for the peace process in Afghanistan.
Ferozuddin Feroz, minister for public health, said the surgery and general wards are functions at this hospital, and soon kidney transplant and chemotherapy would also begin here. He said this hospital would also help treat patients from a number of provinces near Kabul. He added Pakistan would help equip the hospital and train the medical staff.
Pakistan’s minister of state for parliamentary affairs, Ali Muhammad Khan, expressing the hope that Jinnah Hospital would be a substantial contribution to the health sector of Afghanistan also conveyed the message of the Prime Minister Imran Khan that Pakistan would continue to take all possible measures for the welfare of the people of Afghanistan and that the Prime Minister wished to see a stable, secure, peaceful, prosperous and sovereign Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
