KABUL/ WASHINGTON (SW): Pakistan has blatantly linked the peace in Afghanistan with resolution of its Kashmir conflict with India.
Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Pakistan Prime Minister's special envoy on Kashmir has said that road to peace in Kabul lies in Kashmir. He said this during an interaction at Washington-based think-tank Stimson Centre on Friday.
Commenting on this, analysts told Salam Watandar that this has yet again proved that Pakistan is indeed interfering in Afghanistan and exporting terror. Tawfan Waziri, an expert on political affairs said that Pakistan is facing isolation in the league of nations, and is responsible for the instability in the region. “Pakistan has acknowledge that it is supporting the terrorist groups that are destabilizing the whole region, and is using these groups for its strategic goals in places like Kashmir as well”, he noted.
Younus Fakoor, another political commentator, said that the international community has placed its trust and support in Afghanistan’s future, which has forced Pakistan to blatantly link the peace in Kabul with the resolution of its Kashmir conflict with India. “This confession has exposed Pakistan that it can fall to such a low for the sake of its interests”, Fakoor said.
In Washington, Mushahid Hussain further said in his speech that the US-India relations are the reason for Pakistan's burgeoning ties with Russia. Hussain said every action has a reaction, and Pakistan felt the need to develop close ties with Russia after President Obama’s two visits to India.
