KABUL (SW): According to the Ministry of Education (MoE), more than 300 thousand students are likely to appear in the Kankoor (University entrance exams) this year.
In conversation with Salam Watandar, Faisal Amin, spokesman for the MoE, said only around 62 thousand students would have the chance to join public and private sector universities in the country this year. This represents only around 21 per cent while 79 per cent are likely to be deprived of higher studies.
The MoE spokesman said this year five per cent higher number of students would be enrolled in the universities than the previous year. Faisal Amin said those failed in the Kankoor examination would not be given admission in the universities.
As per reports, the Kankoor examinations are set to take place in the first week of March.
