MAZAR-E-SHARIF (SW) – The 209 Shaheen Corps on Friday claimed killing at least 72 and injuring 32 other Taliban militants in three provinces.
The 209 – Shaheen Corps of the Afghan National Army (ANA) said in a statement these insurgents were killed in ground and air offensives in Balkh, Faryab and Sar-i-Pul provinces in past 24 hours. It added at least four key Taliban commanders are among those killed.
Spokesman for the Shaheen Corps, Mohammed Haneef Rezaey said multiple bastions of the Taliban were destroyed in these operations and no civilians were harmed.
The Taliban have not commented on this.
