Number of rebels fall victim to a blast in Marja

LASHKARGAH (SW): At least 20 Taliban rebels have died in southern Helmand province as they were placing explosives in a car that detonated, an official said on Thursday.

The incident has reportedly taken place in the restive Marja district’s 5^th block. Abdullah Khan, Marja Security Chief has said that 20 rebels have died and 15 more are wounded. He told Salam Watandar that the Taliban were preparing the explosives-ridden car to be sent to the frontline against the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF).

The incident has occurred late on Wednesday.

A well placed security source in the area added in this regard that a drone has also struck here last evening.

 As per the source, the unmanned predator targeted a house that was used by the Taliban to store arms and ammunitions.

Taliban have so far said nothing about this incident.
