LASHKARGAH (SW): At least 20 Taliban rebels have died in southern Helmand province as they were placing explosives in a car that detonated, an official said on Thursday.
The incident has reportedly taken place in the restive Marja district’s 5th block. Abdullah Khan, Marja Security Chief has said that 20 rebels have died and 15 more are wounded. He told Salam Watandar that the Taliban were preparing the explosives-ridden car to be sent to the frontline against the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF).
The incident has occurred late on Wednesday.
A well placed security source in the area added in this regard that a drone has also struck here last evening.
As per the source, the unmanned predator targeted a house that was used by the Taliban to store arms and ammunitions.
Taliban have so far said nothing about this incident.
