KABUL (SW): The National Unity Government (NUG) is set to introduce remaining eight ministers to the Wolesi Jirga (lower house) for the vote of confidence next week, officials informed on Monday.

Shah Hussain Murtazawi, spokesman for the President, told Salam Watandar the consultations for this purpose are in the final phase. Without revealing the names, he added the leaders of the NUG have selected educated and competent individuals for the posts. The President’s spokesman noted a number of interim ministers are among those set to be introduced to the house for the vote of confidence next week.

In November, the house voted over the fate of 17 ministers for not properly utilizing their development budgets. Nine of the ministers lost the vote. Among those who lost the vote included the Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani.

Jawed Faisal, deputy spokesman for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), has said the NUG is bound to nominate replacements in this regard. He said leaders of the NUG are seriously deliberating on this issue.
