KABUL (SW): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and his power-sharing Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah are for a crucial meeting as differences between the two leaders of the National Unity Government (NUG) over a number of issues hits new heights.

Abdullah spoke his heart out on Thursday while addressing a group of youngsters at his office in connection with the World Youth Day. “Mr. President, you have been unable to find time out to meet with your CEO in the last three months, what is keeping you busy?” he questioned. Abdullah went on to say that ‘someone who does not have patience to engage in dialogue on a number of issues does not qualify for the presidency either’.

The two have been at odds on matters relating to the electoral reforms, appointments and the electronic identity cards issue. Abdullah stressed that he would not quit the hard-earned post, which he got following a significant mandate in the presidential elections two years ago.

Criticizing Ghani’s choices for a number of key posts, Abdullah said people who do not have even ‘four-days’ experience have been appointed at important posts for administrative reforms.  It is vital to note that the President has appointed young Ahmad Nadir Nadiri as the head of Administrative Reforms and Civil Services Commission.

The CEO announced to boycott meeting until his demands are not met. Abdullah noted that he would hold an important meeting with Ghani on Saturday.
