KABUL (SW): The National Union of Afghanistan Workers and Employees (NUAWE) blasted the government on Monday for being mum over alleged encroachment of the Union’s properties across the country.
Maroof Qaderi, head of the NUAWE, told a press conference here that the issue of government confiscating the Union’s properties has been shared with the Presidential palace, and the office of the Chief Executive Officer of the National Unity Government, but to no avail.
They warned if the government did no back-track from its move of confiscating the Union’s properties, members of the NUAWE would not hesitate to take legal and civil actions.
The UNAWE claimed all properties possessed by it is bought with financial contributions from its members.
Meanwhile, the government has asserted that in line with the cabinet decision, all property in control of the UNAWE is state property, and should be handed over to the relevant institutions.
