HERAT (SW): Officials in Herat said that the notorious Taliban commander was killed in Shindand district with 30 of his subordinates.
Jilani Farhad, the spokesperson for the Governor of Herat, said that as a result of the joint security operation, along with Mullah Kamran, the other notorious commanders Mullah Hibat Ullah brother of Mullah Najib, Qazi Zubair and two other key commanders of Taliban were killed in Herat.
Farhad Jilani said that the operation was launched in Shindand district two days ago which eventually, late last night, ended with the heavy casualties on Taliban side.
According to Farhad Jilani, 20 other Taliban were wounded in the operation and no harm was reported to the security forces.
So far, the Taliban have not written anything about it on their websites.
Mullah Kamran was one of the most notorious Taliban commanders in Herat, where most of the attacks on Shindand district were led by him.
