KABUL (SW) – Ferozuddin Feroz, minister for the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), stressed on Saturday access to health services is the fundamental right of each and every citizens including members of the nomad community.
He said this addressing a workshop on development and expansion of health services for nomads. The minister promised to further improve delivery of health services to the nomad community. He noted there are 6 established health centers and 25 mobile health units serving the nomad community across Afghanistan.
Members of the community stressed more such centers should be established considering the population of the nomads. Khalid Ahmadzai, advisor at the Wolesi Jirga (lower house), told the moot lack of proper data, security threats, illiteracy and interference by powerful figures are the main obstacles facing the community.
