KABUL (SW) – The Ministry of Defense has stated there are no ghost soldiers in the ranks of the Afghan National Army (ANA).
Jawed Ghafoor, spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, told Salam Watandar the biometric verification system has been implemented 98 per cent while the System Aps has been implemented up to 91 per cent to ensure there are no ghost soldiers in the ANA.
Meanwhile, Najib Danish, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, has stated that efforts are underway to completely resolve the issue of ghost policemen at the MoI. He said the biometric verification process would soon be implemented at the MoI, and the issue would be resolved for good.
This comes following reports about presence of ghost employees in the security sector causing unrest.
