KABUL (SW) – The New National Front of Afghanistan led by Anwarul Haq Ahadi has quit the Greater National Alliance of Afghanistan.
Syed Jawad Hussaini, spokesman for the NNFA told a presser here on Tuesday the party wished to field a unanimous candidate for the forthcoming presidential elections together with the GNAA. He said the two remain at odds over the structure of the government and the post of the chief executive resulting in separation.
A statement by the party has noted that it would continue with its political activities separately.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Natiqi, a member of the GNAA has discarded the notion of differences over these matters. He claimed the NNFA head, Anwarul Haq Ahadi was very keen to nominate himself for the presidential office, and had no issue with the post of the CEO.
He added the GNNA was busy formulating a list of proposed candidates, and the name of Ahadi was in it.
