New strategy to combat crimes in Kabul

KABUL (SW) – Massoud Andrabi, interim minister for the Ministry of Interior, said on Sunday new policy has been adopted to combat surging crime rate in the capital Kabul.

He said this addressing a scholarly workshop on combating crimes in Kabul. The minister said initial phase of this policy deals with identifying criminal syndicates and outlawed individuals. He said this policy would help bring down crime rate, and restrict movement of criminals.

Andrabi said close surveillance of criminal gangs helped arrest 21 outlawed individuals in the past few weeks. He stressed cooperation and coordination among different security sectors have improved resulting in positive outcomes in this regard.

The interim minister urged Kabul residents to cooperate with the security forces in ensuring peace and order.
