KABUL (SW): A 12-member team of body builders from Afghanistan departed for South Korea on Sunday to take part in the forthcoming Asian Body Building Championship.
According to the Afghanistan Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (ABBFF), Afghanistan would join some 30 countries from the region at this event. Abdul Rahman Hameed, secretary general of the AFBBC, said Afghan athletes are well prepared to compete against hundreds of finest body builders from across Asia at the 51st Asian Body Building Championship.
Bawar Hotak, president of ABBFF, accompanied the team for the journey. He recalled the players from Afghanistan performed well last year, and would shine again this year.
Earlier this week, ABBFF crowned Yasin Qaderi as Mr. Afghanistan 2017 following a three-day competition in Kabul. Qadri managed to defeat four-time winner Shukrullah Helmandi to earn the title. He bagged this title after a long wait for nine years since he first became Mr. Afghanistan in 2008.
