KABUL (SW): Women Coordination Network, launched a National Campaign for the Elimination of Illiteracy for Women here on Thursday.
This campaign has been launched to eliminate illiteracy among women. The WCN urged upon all women to take active part in it.
Shahla Amiri, one of women’s rights activists at the WCN, said that that literacy is part of women’s basic rights and that the growing number of illiterate women is a challenge to be considered by the government as well as international community.
Zahra Jafari, an official at the Counter Illiteracy Department, pointing out to the Women Coordination Network for the elimination of illiteracy, said that the campaign would go smoothly and it would be enough if it could lead to literate at least one women in each family.
