KABUL (SW): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has directed thorough investigations into the missing of arms and other resources from the Ministry of Interior (MoI).
Siddique Siddiqui, spokesman for the MoI told Salam Watandar on Saturday that the names of three former directors at the MoI have been put on the Exit Control List (ECL). These directors, he said were on duty during the years 2012-2015. According to the reports, a number of arms, communication devices, military tools and other resources went missing from the MoI.
The President has directed concerned departments to perform their duties in regard to investigations into the MoI, he said.
When contacted, one of the former directors Mujtaba Patang refrained from commenting on the issue. Efforts to reach to other two, Jameel Junbish and Jamal Nasir did not succeeded.
In line with the Presidential decree in this regard, all those who worked at the procurement section in the MoI during the past ten years have been dismissed while pledges to recruit new people via fair competition have been made.
