KABUL (SW): Shah Hussain Murtazawi, spokesman for the President has rebuffed accusations levelled against the National Unity Government (NUG) by politicians who are part of the government.

Recently, governor of Balkh province Atta Mohammad Noor, first Vice President Abdul Rasheed Dostum, and deputy Chief Executive Officer of the NUG Mohammad Mohaqeq, joined hands for an anti-government alliance in Turkey. They have blamed President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani for monopolizing power among other accusations.

Talking to Salam Watandar, Murtazawi said political manouvers, and formation of alliances demonstrate democracy and freedom of speech are flourishing in the country. He said those who are criticizing the NUG should put forward agenda for reforms.

Meanwhile, Professor Faizullah Jalal of the Kabul University has also pronounced such activities crucial for political maturity and social awakening. He said the government should welcome suggestions for change and improvement. However, Younus Fakoor, an analyst, stressed only those political alliances are in favor of the country that are not perpetrated by outsider elements and foreign countries. He told Salam Watandar many of those individuals seek to form anti-government alliances who are dismissed from their posts, or those who see their interests under threat.
