MOSCOW (SW): Afghanistan’s free fight icon Baz Muhammad Mubariz defeated yet another Russian opponent on his home ground in two months time.
Thousands of spectators witnessed the Afghan fighter defeat his Russian opponent Maksim Katakov in the 8th season of the Octagon Fighting Sensation in Moscow, Russia on Sunday. Katakov is considered as one of the leading free fighters (Mixed Martial Arts) and is pronounced as “devil” for his merciless style of play.
According to the MMA’s official website, Mubariz has so far played ten international professional matches in which he managed to win six and lose four. Prior to the latest fight in Russia, the Afghan fighter also appeared in two previous fights in the same country. Among those two, he managed to win over Ameer Starov but lost against Islam Makov.
Mubaraz is rated as one of the leading MMA player around the world. He started his professional career in 2012 with a win over his Indian counterpart Saresh Rajput in India. Mubaraz was widely celebrated in his home country earlier this year when he over powered his Russian opponent Ammer Starov. He is the honorary ambassador of the Afghan National Police (ANP).
