MP’s guards ‘rape’ two women in Kapisa

KAPISA (SW) – The brother and armed guards of a female parliamentarian from Kapisa has allegedly raped two women in Kapisa province.

A reliable source, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Salam Watandar that the two women had gone to Kapisa for a tour on Friday. According to the source, one woman is a resident of Kapisa and the other came to the province from Kabul.

The source added that the women's car broke down in Sayad area late on Friday and the gunmen took the two women to a house in Jamal Agha area of ​​Hessa II district of Kapisa province and then raped them. According to the source, the gunmen kicked the women out of the house in the middle of the night after raping them. According to the source, both the women are now with the police and efforts are underway to arrest the accused.

The Kapisa Department of Women's Affairs confirmed the incident, and told Salam Watandar that police had arrested six armed men. The department said police did not provide further details.

Saif-ur-Rehman Khalil, the governor Kohaband district and brother of the female MP Khadija Elham denied the allegations saying the bodyguards were not involved in the incident and were at home.

Salam Watandar wished to obtain views of the female MP, Khadija, but to no avail.
