KABUL (SW): Leaders of the ‘Movement for Change’ on Wednesday criticized the National Unity Government (NUG) for allegedly undermining civic liberty and human values.
Kareemullah Hamsukhun, leader of the ‘Movement for Change’ told a press conference here on Wednesday that the NUG is not seriously pursuing the cases of those protesters killed during clashes with the police last month following deadly truck bombing. He called for referring the Kabul Police Chief and the Chief of Kabul Garrison to the Attorney General Office (AGO) for prosecution in this connection.
Talking to Salam Watandar, Jamshed Rasuli, spokesman for the AGO, promised this matter will be pursued vigorously. “We have asked the members of the Movement for Change to come and monitor this process that is fair and transparent”, he noted.
The Movement for Change has vowed to take serious steps if their demands are not met.
