KANDAHAR (SW): Since the beginning of the voters’ registration process, the residents of Kandahar have signed up the most for receiving the birth certificates to participate in the election process while the numbers of residents of Nuristan and Maidan Wardak have been the lowest to receive birth certificates, officials said.
According to the officials, there has been no change in the conditions for the distribution of the birth certificates and have been distributed to the citizens across the country as was the normal process before.
Humayoun Muhtat, head of Population Registration Directorate (PRD) today at a meeting in Kabul said that since the solar year of 1395, residents of the country have received nearly four and a half million paper birth certificates.
Muhat added that the rules for distribution of birth certificates have not changed and birth certificates have been distributed as it was before.
Muhtat rejected the allegations of a member of Wolesi Jirga who said that the PRD has distributed 4 million fake birth certificates and said that PRD has referred the matter to the Attorney General’s office and asked the Attorney General to demand explanations from the member of the WJ and ask him to provide evidence to prove his allegations against PRD.
