KABUL (SW) – Russia is set to host a conference in Moscow on the Afghan peace process and to celebrate 100 years of bilateral ties with Afghanistan.
Assadullah Zahiri, deputy spokesman for the High Peace Council said this on Monday. He told Salam Watandar the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has invited HPC chairman Kareem Khalili, former president Hamid Karzai, presidential candidate Haneef Atmar and a number of other politicians for this moot.
He said the peace process would also be discussed at this gathering to mark the 100 years of bilateral ties between Kabul and Moscow. Zahiri dubbed this meeting important for advancing intra-Afghan talks for peace.
The HPC deputy spokesman said the Taliban have also been invited for this conference, but it is likely they would decline to attend.
