KABUL (SW): The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development will reconstruct and rehabilitate 90 irrigation channels of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock through the Citizen’s Charter Program and the financial contribution of the United Nations, worth 662 million afghanis in the provinces of Kabul, Parwan, and Logar.
Nasir Ahmad Durrani, the Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, on the occasion of signing the contracts on Tuesday, said 332 kilometers of irrigation canals will be reconstructed and rehabilitated, and with the completion of the projects 6, 496 hectares of land will be irrigated.
He assured that with the completion of the projects, harvests will increase for the farmers of the 3 provinces.
The Minister for Rural Rehabilitation and Development added that these 90 projects include 19 projects in Kabul worth over 116 million afghanis, 52 projects in Parwan worth 198 million afghanis and 19 other projects in Logar province worth 348 million afghanis.
