KABUL (SW): The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriates (MoRR) has announced to financially compensate Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) instead of accommodating them in temporary camps.
Meher Khudai Saboor, director for the IDPs at the MORR, told Salam Watandar that the displaced families would be provided with AFN 8000 to AFN 40000 so that they can rent homes for themselves in line with their needs and requirements.
A number of IDPs have been complaining against lack of shelter, aid and support for days.
Deen Mohammad and Mohammad Yaqoob are two such IDPs from Jawzjan’s Darzab district who are now living in the provincial capital Sheberghan. They told Salam Watandar many people like them have fled their homes due to ragging violence, and need aid and support.
The MoRR has vowed to help all in need. An estimated 40,000 families have been displaced across Afghanistan this year.
