KABUL (SW): The Ministry of Public Works (MoPW) has signed contract for the construction of road and two bridges with a private company on Monday here in Kabul.
The authorities of the MoPW have said in a press conference that based on the contract 6 kilometers of road in Kalakan district of Kabul while 99 meters of bridge in Kapisa and another 30 meters in Baghlan province will be constructed.
Naimatullah Haidary, deputy at the MoPW, signing the contract said the venture is worth 220 million afghanis which is funded by Japan. “The projects will be completed within 12 to 17 months”, informed Haidary.
The Ministry assured that the projects will be implemented with high standards by the contracting company.
Daud Kalkani, member of the Wolesi Jirga (lower house), also said on the occasion that with the completion of the new road, agricultural producers will benefit from the road in the Kalakan district.
