23/01/2017

KABUL (SW): The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has vowed to provide 12 sorts of vaccines free of cost to the citizens at public clinics across the country.

According to the officials, these vaccines would help provide immunity against diseases like hepatitis B, polio, tuberculosis, influenza, flue, measles and many other common diseases.

Sardar Mohammad Parwez, an official at the MoPH, told Salam Watandar these 12 types of vaccines will be available for free in all public health centers in the country. Halima Baloch, head of vaccination program at the MoPH, has urged the public, especially mothers with newborns, and toddlers to visit public health centres for vaccination.

The MoPH officials, however, regretted that due to lack of awareness and the low level of illiteracy in the country, not many people opt for vaccination.
